Felder Farm is a school farm and educational market garden located at Felder Academy, a Little Rock school for 6th thru 12th grade. 2009 marks the first season for Felder Farm, and this season’s activities include poultry production for eggs and diversified vegetable cultivation. Herbs, flowers, and vegetables grown at the farm are sold at the market and also made available to the school and surrounding community.

At Felder Farm all farming is done in a way that is healthy and sustainable. The vegetables, herbs and flowers are produced without synthetic chemicals and the poultry is raised in a low-impact integrated manner. Felder is a place to teach children about good, nutritious food and involve them in the art and science of food cultivation. Felder Farm educational programs connect academic disciplines from art and science to math and reading around the most basic of human acts—growing and eating food.
